Day 8: A song to match your mood

Today's weather: rainy. Today's mood: gloomy.

When I got to my desk this morning, I quipped "Thank God I arrived before it rained". Then I thought deeper of things I should be thankful for.

My mood though matches the weather. Not that I'm not able to think of things to be thankful for but just because it's how I feel and look today. It's my non-shampoo day, it's laundry day and it's Monday. My hair just looks ugly and I couldn't find any decent clothes to wear to start my work week. To add, I have a really cute pimple on top of my nose bridge and my face is as oillllllly as ever.

Now, as I write this post, I am alone (Yes, there are office mates) because Matts and Bless have their separate meetings. I guess they'll be back on the last couple of hours before it's bye-bye. I know I should be busy with my final report for a client, the ISO audit next week and more account management tasks to work out. It's just that I don't feel like getting giddy with work now. My mind is occupied with thoughts of the beach, a nice conversation, Tanduay Ice, Hard Rock photos (which Adeline still has to upload) and what good movie to watch this weekend. So, to match all these, here goes:

And I'm on my way to believing....

This chocolate bar hopefully gives me a better mood too:

Day 7: Your dream wedding

The boyfriend and I have always heard of people ringing the wedding bells for us. Three years they say, is enough for two people to finally tie the knot. Oh yeah, perfect - until they begin to realize building a house, getting our own car, paying more and more bills 'should' come first. I shall say this is a bit (ok, too) idealistic but come on, by all means if the boyfriend and I can make all these happen before we exchange "I Do's", then why not.

Just last weekend, Andrew and Tala handed over their invitation for their wedding on December. Andrew said it is our "passport", and he meant it literally. Here's a snap of our passport and boarding pass:

Super cute, ain't it???

Well, for my dream wedding, I would like to have it on a small chapel with very few people. I'd like to keep it really solemn and ask the guests to wear something white so it looks more heavenly and neat too! My bridal gown will be of my own design and the boyfriend will wear a white suit. The theme would be about nature and all decors will be green. The reception will be at a beach resort where there's partying. The party will be the complete opposite of the church ceremony. I'd slip my 3-inch heels with slippers and feel the sand on my feet. I would pull out my hair pins and put down my hair to be freely blown by the breeze. I wish it will also rain and the guests would be cool enough to join the dancing under the it. There will be overflowing beer and food for all! It will be the time that both the bride and groom gets drunk on their own wedding. People will sing their happy wishes to us. The kids will have their own party place too. Inflatables and a kiddie pool would be perfect. Then, to cap off the day, we will have a bonfire to warm all the sweaty bodies and the cold night air.

I would have to say that this dream is very achievable. We just have to wait for the right time.

Day 6: A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet

Peeeeeeeets! I have always loved animals. I grew up with dogs, cats, a turtle, chicken, pigs, turkeys, ducks and guinea pigs around the house. I've had my share of dog bites and cat scratches all over my body. And although I was allergic to their fur, I still got to sleep with them sometimes.

My mother once explained to me that pets can help me become responsible. It's like having to feed, bathe and clean their cages every time. It's like learning how to be accountable with another precious life.
With my current lifestyle, I couldn't really afford, not just financially, to keep a pet. Just last Sunda
y, the boyfriend surprised me with a red angel fish he bought from the weekend market. I'm keeping it in a really small, maybe 5-inch diameter, tank. And every morning, I sprinkle a pinch of fish food. Here's Angie:

Her tank has bubbles in it. The boyfriend told me those might actually be eggs. Uhm, immaculate conception? Or maybe she'd been pregnant at the time she was sold.

One small fish is what I can only keep for now, but when time comes I can actually live another one in my own house, I would want this:

I actually have a name - Ichiro. He's a good Japanese player in the MLB from the Mariners team. (And yes, "iro" means dog in Bisaya :P ) That is why I always want to go to Tiendesita's because of the pet shops. One time I accidentally slammed my forehead on the glass window because I got amused with the really noisy and playful white chow chow inside one of the shops. They accept credit cards too, and with 0% interest. Hah!

Day 5: A photo of yourself two years ago

Will continue tomorrow.

Day 4: Your favorite photograph of your best friend

I seriously consider quite a handful of people as my best friends. Mainly because I am such an extremist. I am a bit the extrovert and needless to say, I could hang out with just anybody else. ;)

However, I give the title to my "bestfriendship", Isay. She was born only 10 days after me. They used to stay at their house below ours. We grew up together and shared almost everything. Looking at our old photo albums, I would always be present in hers, and she in mine. There is this one particular photo though, during my first birthday, that I wanted to post but unfortunately it's back home in CDO. It was that time that we blew my cake candles together. But this one I am going to post, something I am really proud of her:

Congratulations to Isay. She received her diploma last March and is currently working at an architectural firm. She's also preparing for her licensure exam. I really hope she makes it. She will also be my Maid of Honor, although there's a bit of insecurity on my part. Hahaha! She will be prettier than the bride! LOL

Most people would also, of course, agree that the boyfriend should be the best friend. Thus,

This photo was taken three years ago, still fresh then. This had always been in both our phones.

Day 3: Your idea of the perfect first date

First day blues, they say. It's like "never eat burgers on your first date". They're greasy and the catsup might just smear your dress.

My idea of a first date though is pretty simple. Talking for hours and hours, and just enjoying the company. For me, I wouldn't go out with someone if I don't actually like the person. Thus, the "companionship". It's like getting giddy over similar things that you discover from each other and sharing eye-to-eye
conversations. It's also the...uhm, kilig factor that always accompanies us. It's the boggling thought on what move to make when it's time to say goodnight - whether to share a warm hug or to put a peck on the cheek.

I don't really daydream of having a formal dinner, or watching an iMax movie. It's ok spending the night on a beach, under the night blanket of stars. It may just be at a simple restaurant, or at some random garden. How the date goes doesn't really put a significant impact on me. It is on eyes glued to each other, it is on the arms 'accidentally' brushing, the pressure when he's just an inch away and the involuntary blush and sparkle you give off.

Day 1: A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was

Officially, I am starting on October 1. I just figured it would be easier for me to keep track the days if I start it on the first of the month.

October 1 was actually a staff training on leadership and customer service. It was good in a sense that I was with my batchmates and office friends. No one had to wear a mask. Most people know each other and survived the day together. It was nice seeing Jem and Kezia who I didn't usually see in the office. Most employees were out in client calls or deployment and that was the day when we would come together and forget that we had month-end reports, monthly revenue outlook preps, billings, meetings and etc.

After the training, we had lots of free time. It meant booze, swimming, billiards, card games and more companionship. It was the time that we could talk freely about how we feel in the workplace (right Lex?). At leas
t there was that time when we were all thinking of just having fun and enjoy the 'vacation'.

Only April has posted some photos of the event. This is the only one I could post for now:

In every company event, I always see to it that I enjoy. One thing learned, work hard, party harder. How else?
